Background:
Sundrop comes from the demon worshiping town. Her family attends the temple, teaching the people how to pray, do ritual sacrifice and the languages of the demons. Even as a young snake she was expected to work in the temple as a cleric.
However things took a drastic change while she was out foraging in the local forest. Some trickster fey thought it would be hilarious to trick and curse the girl into only doing good deeds. At first, everything seemed fine. She was able to mask her curse. Though people closest to her slowly started noticing her odd behaviour.
The fateful day eventually came where Sundrop was expected to do the ritual to become a cleric. Tried everything. Convincing herself that being a demonic priestess was a good thing. Sadly for her, she was compelled by her curse to make a mockery of the ritual. Surprised by her own actions, she tried to apologize. Only to realize that if she didn’t run away, her life was forfeit.
Hastily, she slithered away from the town and headed into the forest, doing her best to escape the oncoming wrath. Sundrop knew that she couldn’t return back to the village. Her only choice was to find a place where she could belong that was far enough away.
At first, things were rough, her monstrous serpentine body was enough to spook the average villager into thinking that she was a monster, ready to suck the souls out of their babies. Luckily, there are some villagers who are more open minded. Her cursed nature made it easier for people to like her and befriend her.
As time moved on, Sundrop soon discovered her magical abilities. It wasn’t like any magic she used too. It was warm and soothing. With this new discovery, Sundrop went to find someone who would teach her about magic.
At first the lessons were dull. Magic theory is exceptionally dull. Always covering the what-ifs, never the cool stuff like blowing up things with fireballs. One thing that did manage to catch her interest during these dull lessons was hearing about ancient artifacts and rituals. So many of them were lost to the sands of time. Clearly someone needs to go out there and figure them out.
On her personal quest, she collected some friends that she would consider dear to her. These bonds would be strengthened by the blood they shed in combat, the people they helped and the trials they had to endure as a team. Often these friends would become fleeting as death would become ever present.
The difference between moral life and the afterlife is an experience that Sundrop wouldn’t soon forget. In her short experience in the afterlife there was a peace and tranquillity that she couldn’t describe. A peace that if others knew could break the strongest of bonds. Instinctively, the kind hearted sorceress knew that she had to pretend things are just fine.
Eventually the naga found herself tangled in fight against the invading demons. Plagues, famines, ecological disasters were all impossible to ignore. In a meeting with the druids who wanted to burn their homeland to ashes, Sundrop has dedicated herself to provide a small glimmer of hope to the people. It was decided that her team would destroy the obelisks to hinder and weaken the demon’s efforts for control.
Personality:
Though cursed to do good deeds, the behaviour is second nature to Sundrop as good deeds are often reciprocated. She works hard to make sure that the people around her are well cared for. However at the same time, she isn’t above messing with them for a cheap laugh.
